These courses are FREE for people living in the East Midlands who are Biometric Residents Permit holders or BNO status holders (funded by East Midlands Councils)  otherwise fees apply.

The CertTESL is a 100 hour online specialist course for people who are or want to teach students of all ages living in English speaking countries who plan to settle.  These may include migrant workers and refugees and their families. Applicants need to be of a lower intermediate level/B1/Entry level 3 and 16+.  No prior qualifications are necessary.

Progression

This course can lead to careers teaching in private language academies, volunteering, starting your own tutoring business or working with people who speak English as a second or other language.  On completion of this course you may be invited to complete the OFQUAL Regulated Certificate in TEFL or the Trinity CertTESOL.

 

Option 1: Certificate in TESL (100hrs online)

Option 2: Certificate in TEFL (168hrs online)

The level 5 online Certificate in TEFL is ideal for people who wish to gain a professional qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign language.  This qualification is recognised by the UK government and carries credits towards university courses.  Applicants need to have intermediate and above levels of English. 

Progression

This course can lead to careers teaching in private language academies, volunteering, starting your own tutoring business or working with people who speak English as a second or other language.  It also carries credits towards university courses.  On completion of this course you may be invited to complete the Trinity CertTESOL.

Option 3:  Trinity CertTESOL
Part time: 9-12 hours per week for 15 or 16 weeks
Full time: 35-40hrs per week for 4 weeks

The Trinity College London, CertTESOL is an internationally renowned level 5 qualification which is equivalent to 2nd year of a degree.  It enables learners to teach English to speakers of other languages, anywhere in the world. Trainees have the opportunity to teach English as a second language to refugees, asylum seekers, charities and community groups across the UK, as part of their CertTESOL training - bringing free ESOL classes to where they are needed most.

This course is offered as a Part Time course: 15 or 16 weeks partly online and partly face-to-face in the classroom in Nottingham - 9-12 hours of study per week, or Full Time: 35-40hrs per week for 4 weeks.  

This qualification is for people who want to have a career in teaching English as a second or other language in the UK and anywhere else in the world. This qualification can lead to careers in teaching at colleges, universites, international schools, language institutes, volunteering, private tutoring and working with ESOL learners anywhere in the world.  Applicants need to demonstrate a high level of English language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
